Our mission as a company is to enhance the quality of life for our customers and friends with products and services that will express beauty in their lives. We've been working on that mission for over 100 years. In fact, our beginning goes back to 1868 when Grandpa Peter Hanson walked from St. Paul to homestead the land where Engwall's Greenhouse, Main Store and Garden Center are today. One of Peter Hanson's daughters married William Engwall and the Engwall tradition began with William and his wife when they took over the family farm and business in the late 1800s.
The Engwall family operated the Hermantown location until 1970, when Clarence Engwall (grandson of Peter Hanson) sold the business to three friends: Bud Renning, Don Rosacker and Marv Saline.
In 1974, Marv Saline's son, Rod, joined the business. In 1991, the ownership changed to Marv and Rod Saline, carrying the business forward into the new century.
The future brings new challenges and opportunities for the flower business. The team managers and staff at Engwall's are excited about the possibilities to meet the floral, plant and gift needs to our area.

What a wonderful shop to deal with. They were so helpful when I needed to order a funeral bouquet. The gal on the phone was so pleasant and gave me a beautiful suggestion. The bouquet at the service was absolutely gorgeous.

I called in the AM for a Birthday arrangement that I needed to arrive later that day. The gal who answered the phone was very helpful - I had no idea what types of flowers I wanted - all I knew was what colors I liked and the amount I wanted to spend - I let Engwall's do the rest and hoped for the best. My friend e-mailed a picture of what she received - it beautiful and very unique. I will DEFINITELY order from Engwalls' again!
